DIMENSIONAL ACCURACY AND SMOOTHNESS

In the recent scientific article “Product Development and its Comparative Analysis by SLA, SLS and FDM Rapid Prototyping” the two Authors – Professors Choudhari C.M and Patil V.D. of Mumbay’s University – confirm the better performances of SLA technology compared to SLS and FDM in terms of shrinkage, one of the basic issue of polymeric materials for Additive Manufacturing. The benchmark reveals that SLA performs 3 times better than SLS, and 8 time better than FDM in maintaining CAD dimensions. Analogue best performances are registered for surface smoothness.
